I am 1 year - yoohoo!!

Can you believe it!!! I am already a year old:):). Ma says, I started out tiny and helpless, and now I'm mobile, independent, and full of personality. I am walking, talking, laughing, playing, understanding most of the things Ma-Pa tell me (they are surprised when I pisked up all of it) and exploring and learning and growing and enjoying every bit of it!

I had infant eczema(gone by 6 months), cold and cough (about 2 weeks before my 1st birthday), diarrhoea (due to stomach infection - about a week before my first birthday)) and overcame it all by my first birthday! I have traveled internationally - spent time in India - visited Bombay, Delhi, Jaipur, Lonavala and Jalandhar. I have met and spent time with my Nani-Nana, Dadi, Tauji, Taiji, Pari di, Son Massi, Sarthi Bhaiya, Sid Bhaiya, my uncles and aunts and cousins and friends. I have visited Portland to meet Saurabh uncle and Vinaya aunt. I have also explored several parks in the Puget sound area.

In addition to the things I have already learnt, I can now show my hair (as well as 'baal'), tell you who's the good boy or Mummy's chicoolopumpum or Mummy's cutie pie or Mummy's beta (of course, me me), do some Yoga, tell you that sheep says 'ba ba', lion does 'khrrr', point Mummy's eyes, understand most instructions, go get my shoes when it's time for ghoomi ghoomi, water the plants in the evening with Mummy, know what banana, apple, milky (or dudu) are and what not!!

For my first birthday, Ma-Pa reserved a huge picninc place at Cottage Lake Park in Woodinville. Ma baked a very nice cake for me which looked like a crown and also ordered a beautiful 3 tiered cake for me. Then, Ma-Pa got me very smart Polo Ralph Lauren clothes and Ma co-ordinated hers and Pa's outfit with mine - check is the new fad of the season!! People complimented Ma on the co-ordinated clothes and Pa's friend Grahan also complimented that he's seen me as the most well dressed kid whenever he's met me. He also said he's not seen kids as young as me wearing a bracelet (which nani got - my steel 'kada' from Amritsar):)

Ma also made Dhokla and Dal Makhani at home for my birthday. And Ma-Pa got the rest of the food catered from Kabab House in Seattle. It was an elaborate menu - Aloo tikki, Pakoras, dhokla and chips for appetizers. Then, karahi paneer, malai kofte, dal makhni, naan, rice pulao for main course. Then, sooji halwa for dessert. Plus, I cut 3 different cakes - one baked by Ma, one three tiered cake and another one that the bakery place (Fredmeyer) gave complimentary.

it was a bright, sunny and warm day - there was a playground and lake next to our picnic spot.

Saurabh Uncle and Vinaya Aunt had come from Portland specially for my birthday and they got me a fun red ride-on fire engine, which I love. I got lot of gifts and best wishes also from everyone. Nani-Nana, Massi, Dadi, Tauji and my Uncles and aunts sent me so many best wishes via email and phone that I am overjoyed. Thank you all and I love you all!:)

The pictures (in the upper left side area of this site) probably don't do justice to the whole setting, and the details that Ma-Pa planned, but they will give you an idea. Rest, I hope you can get from this blog.
